Kiwi artist auctions off work to help Saving Hope Foundation

23 Jun 2020

In January, Christine Rena and her family adopted a lovely three-year-old dog called Hercules from the Saving Hope Foundation a charity that dedicates itself to rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing dogs and puppies. In the last two years, they have re-homed over 1,000 dogs.

Christine and her family had such a wonderful experience with Saving Hope that she decided she wanted to do something in return.

“I thought it was the perfect opportunity to paint something to auction off for Saving Hope as a way of saying thank you,” she says. “They currently have 169 dogs in foster care with more coming in every week. All funds they receive go towards medical care, de-sexing, food and shelter for all the animals.”

Christine has created a beautiful 40cm round wood panel piece, named ‘Hope For All Dogs.’ She says it symbolises the peace and happiness that dogs and their new families get when they find each other. She used Resene Hippie Blue, Resene Norwester, Resene Apache, Resene Rob Roy, Resene Deep Sea, Resene Keppel and Resene Vista Blue to bring her work to life.

The auction is now live on Trade Me and will run until 12pm on 30 June. Check it out here.
