Rainy day kids’ fun

If little feet are getting restless with the winter weather, it may be time for some DIY fun. These projects from Kiwi Families are quick and easy to do, full of Resene colour and perfect for kids looking for an indoor activity.

Recycled bangle pencil holder

This one-hour project uses old wooden bangles to create a colourful pen holder.

You will need:

• Wooden bangles
• Resene testpots in Resene Buzz, Resene Ballerina and Resene Charlotte
• Cork board or thick card
• A small, flat paint brush
• Glue gun and glue sticks

Upcycled crate toy box

Create a colourful box for toys or books out of an old crate. A fun project for older kids with the help of an adult.

You will need:

• Wooden crate
• Resene testpot brush
• Resene Quick Dry waterborne primer undercoat
• Resene testpots in Resene Wild Thing
• Sandpaper
• Decals (optional)
• 4 castor wheels
• Small screws
