Add personality to your floors with this simple diamond design. Perfect for your hallway or other smaller areas in your home that need brightening up.

You will need:

• Ply sheeting, or use your existing floor
• Measuring tape
• Pencil
• Masking tape
• 1L Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Gull Grey*
• 1L Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Cod Grey
• 1L Resene Aquaclear
• Roller and tray

*The amount of paint needed will depend on the size of the area you are painting.

Step one. Measure up the diamonds and mark out using a pencil, to ensure they are all the same size.

Step two. Use the tape to mask out the pattern.

Step three. Get rolling, starting with Resene Gull Grey on alternating diamonds. Leave to dry, before applying the second colour Resene Cod Grey to the other diamonds.

Step four. Carefully remove the tape before Resene Cod Grey has completely dried.

Step five. Once the paint is fully dry, apply two coats of Resene Aquaclear, which will protect the surface.

Top tip: Create stripes and other patterns using the low tack masking tape.  As an alternative paint system you can also use Resene Walk-on flooring and paving paint and Resene Concrete Wax.
