Fun cocktail coasters
duration:

Whether it’s summer or winter, throwing a cocktail party is always a good idea. Add to the fun with these colourful coasters – they’re so easy to DIY.

You will need:

  • Cork pieces
  • Small plate for stencil
  • Pencil and scalpel
  • Resene testpots in your choice of colours.  We used Resene Gold Dust, Resene Golden Glow, Resene Foam, Resene Pink Lace, Resene Biloba Flower and Resene Aqua
  • Resene testpot brushes
  • Masking tape

Step one. Take the cork pieces, pencil and small plate, and trace circles onto each.

Step two. Cut around the marked circles to create the cork coasters.

Step three. Use the masking tape to create crosses in the middle of the coasters.

Step three. Paint using the Resene testpots. Remove the tape and leave to dry.

Step four. Place your beautiful coasters across the table and serve up those cocktails. Your guests will love the extra touch.

Top tip: Create other designs with the masking tape and different combinations of Resene testpot colours.
