Looking for a doormat that makes an entrance? Or a bathroom mat that doesn’t end up a soaking mess? Create your own colourful wooden version.
You will need
Step one. Taking the timber slats, drill a hole on the side, one close to the top and the other close to the bottom. This is where you’ll be threading through the rope.
Step two. Using the Resene testpots, paint each slat a different colour.
Step four. Once dry, apply Resene Aquaclear onto each slat to protect them from any water damage.
Step five. Thread the rope through the holes of the timber slats, knotting as you go. We arranged the slats tonally from light to dark.
Step five. It’s ready to use in your bathroom or outside your front door.
Top tip: As an alternative to paint, try a stained wooden mat for your bathroom. Use a range of Resene Colorwood testpots of natural wood stain colours and finish in Resene Aquaclear.
