Miss Lolo’s bold new additions to her curated colour collection

Last year, Miss Lolo released the first accent colour in her curated range of Resene colours - Pink Cadillac. A hue dubbed ‘the ultimate bright pink’, it continues to be a strong staple component of her core collection of 12 colours.
Now, Tamzyn Adding, the face behind the brand, has started to add more to her new vibrant-hued accent collection. Strong shades of red, yellow and purple are among her perfect picks for injecting some serious colour to your home’s interior.
When it comes to selecting colours, Tamzyn was inspired by global trends and shades she loves. “The idea behind the accent colours is not to paint out an entire room. They also work fabulously with new paint techniques if you want to veer away from the classic ‘feature wall’ that has dominated interiors for the past decade,” she says.
Of her selections, Tamzyn considers her favourite to be the elegant Call it the Blues – a rich ultramarine ideal in a cosy living room or as a statement wall in a dining room alongside contrasting furniture. “It makes the perfect canvas to hang artwork. It also looks beautiful against neutral coloured furnishings, complementary cushions and throws, making it a really easy colour to work with.”
If opting for a statement shade in your home is proving to be a difficult decision to make, Tamzyn suggests to first start with a piece of furniture or accessory in the room that you love and use that as a starting point.
“Is it an artwork? Cushion? Rug? Once chosen, select paint options that complement that item. Always use Resene testpots to begin with, as the light in the room can change the look of the paint considerably.”
Here are some of the new colours in the accents collection:
Dark and moody blues are increasingly dominating interiors. Used from floor to ceiling, Miss Lolo’s Call it the Blues colour from Resene is the epitome of this trend and idyllic for a fully-saturated living.
Miss Lola’s Yellow Brick Road colour from Resene is a bright and fresh accent colour, excellent for a kitchen or living room when broken up with calm, muted hues.
Looking for a retro-inspired colour? Look no further than Miss Lola’s Golden Dawn colour from Resene. Paired with Resene Alabaster, it makes for a strong dose of personality into a hallway or entryway.
Go bold with Miss Lola’s Lady in Red colour from Resene, a colour that pairs impeccably with today’s hottest jewelled-toned velvet furnishings.
It’s easy being green with a hue like this. Paired with Resene Triple Merino walls and a piece of vibrant artwork, Miss Lola’s Aint Easy Being Green colour from Resene is ideal for a nursery or office.
