Readers' Roundup: April 2020 Edition

29 Apr 2020

If we can be certain of one thing these days, it’s that those stuck at home have been busy with home improvement and decorating projects. We’re floored by the creativity we’ve seen from some of our readers over the past month. Here are a few of our favourite projects.

Karen’s garden glow up

Karen, after winning Resene testpots and brushes in our Facebook contest, ended up painting some decorations for her front garden, including some gnomes, a bird feeder, and this letterbox. With some plant pots still to come, we think things are going to be looking pretty gorgeous around her house by the time spring rolls around again.

Write on, Nikki

Nikki created these adorable house-shaped blackboards which have been painted and decorated with Resene FX Blackboard Paint and Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen tinted to a variety of colours.

Elephant blackboard in Resene Wishlist and Resene FX Blackboard Paint, bunny blackboard in Resene Glorious and Resene FX Blackboard Paint, and bird blackboard in Resene Half Kumutoto and Resene FX Blackboard Paint.

Budding artists

Jude shared these lollipop trees decorated by a group of seven-year-olds who were inspired by the renowned modernist artist, Wassily Kandinsky. Created from branches of a felled tree and a collection of colourful Resene testpots, they now brighten up the school grounds.

Newlands’ outstanding stanzas

If you have leftover colour charts that you don’t need anymore, why not use them to inspire poetry, as a group of Newlands College students have? Each of them created a poem using the Resene colour names on the colour palette they were given.
