Bold, punchy colour – this is the look we're aiming for in this wicker chair makeover.

Step 1

Wipe chairs down with a soft cloth to remove any dust or dirt.

Step 2

With a small brush, paint frames with Resene Enamacryl Metallic. They used Resene Silver Aluminium. They chose not to use a basecoat in order to achieve a brushed-metal effect, but for a smooth finish, undercoat first in Resene Lumbersider tinted to the recommended basecoat colour.

To protect the metallic finish, topcoat the frames in Resene Clearcoat UVS (for outdoor use) or Resene Aquaclear (for indoor use).

Step 3

Paint wicker with Resene Enamacryl Gloss waterborne enamel. An old paintbrush works best to get between the woven strands. They chose Resene Flamingo for a burst of brightness.

Relax, and enjoy your new furniture with a good cup of coffee. The table is painted in Resene Seeker.
