A fruity forecast: Pantone Colour of the Year 2024 announced!

20 Dec 2023

Warm and embracing, winner of Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2024, PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz, is a velvety, gentle peach tone with a nurturing spirit that enriches the mind, body and soul.

“In seeking a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a colour radiant with warmth and modern elegance,” says Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of Pantone Color Institute. “A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless.

Infusing your home with the soft and cosy essence of PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz creates an inviting ambiance. Whether adorning a painted wall, enhancing décor and smaller accessories, or serving as an accent within a pattern, this gentle hue promotes feelings of warmth, enveloping our most personalised spaces with a comforting and welcoming presence.

Let’s take a look at how peachy tones like PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz can pair with other shades, and what Resene paints you can use to get the look:

When we look at PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz, it is much gentler and more tender than your typical peach – almost pink. This is what makes Resene Just Dance a great choice if you’re looking to mimic this sensitive Pantone shade. In this room we have picked out the pink tones on the wall, in Resene Just Dance, and used brighter shades in décor, like these vases painted in Resene Irresistible and Resene BFF. We’ve also complemented the orange and peachy tones in the wall by painting the small vase in Resene FX Metallic Rose Gold, adding a touch of elegance. The floor is painted in Resene Poured Milk, a crisp white that contrasts the warm tones beautifully.

To prove that peach and pink are best friends, we’ve used Resene Cavern Pink on the wall and Resene Tacao on the coat rack. By using contrasting shades on décor you can create a unique and striking design, like the Resene Fountain Blue we have painted on the chair and coat hooks. This blend of shades is inviting and engaging.

If you’re after a slightly different take on a gentle peach shade, try something a little darker that veers into terracotta territory. This floor is painted in Resene Sante Fe, a peachy orange, that pairs well with the darker wall in Resene Crail. We’ve paired these colours, on painted books, in Resene Kilamanjaro, Resene Hot Toddy, Resene Saratoga and Resene Gin Fizz. These shades, together with the emerald fabric on the chair, from Good Form, create a more classic, sophisticated feel.
