Art at Auckland's heart

20 Oct 2015

As part of a new series of Hearts of the City artworks, central Auckland has been a canvas to local artists sharing what the city means to them.

The artists were asked to paint a mural in the shape of a heart to represent what they love about Auckland... and their answers are definitely worth admiring.

Celebrated kiwi artist Dick Frizzell kicked off the series, creating his Downtown Tiki piece (pictured) using rich paint colours from Resene – you'll find the mural next to the Auckland Fish Market, in Wynyard Quarter.

Keep an eye on the Heart of the City website for upcoming artist murals and where to find them as part of the series. Visit www.heartofthecity.co.nz.
