Bath time, garden style

17 May 2017

Jill is the sort of landlord everyone would want. She not only provided an innovative solution to bathing while she renovated the main bathroom in a rental property, but gave it a stunning paint job to suit its garden location. With the help of artist friend Kirsten Roberts who came up with the theme, Jill sanded the old bath, then applied a coat of Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer and a coat of Resene Spray (light blue). Kirsten then went to work with a range of Resene testpots (Resene Bush, Resene Poppy, Resene Turbo and Resene Black) creating a tropical jungle themed artwork, complete with monkeys. It took over Jill's dining table while it was being painted. The bath was then installed on pavers in the back garden of the rental property, and fed by hot and cold water so that the tenants' two boys could use it during the renovation over summer. They may not need it now that the main bathroom is finished, but I'm sure they'll be using it all the same. Who wouldn't?
