Located just 25 minutes from Whangarei and two hours from Auckland, One Tree Point is a peaceful coastal community, looking out across Marsden Bay towards Whangarei Heads. It offers safe swimming, smooth sailing and sensational fishing opportunities. It’s also just a short drive from natural wonders such as Waipu Caves and the Waipu Coastal Walkway.
Given its seaside location in subtropical Northland, the Heart Foundation is delighted to offer a gorgeous first-prize Jennian home in One Tree Point, which you could win for just $15 a ticket.
Living, kitchen and dining walls are painted in Resene Double Merino with Resene Quarter Merino on the ceiling and trims.
Less than a 10-minute journey from the beach, this home is ideal for enjoying Northland’s stunning east coast. This first-prize home painted in stunning Resene hues is ready to move in to, with stylish furnishings and essential kitchen appliances included. The three bedrooms include a main with ensuite and walk-in wardrobe. The open plan living/kitchen/dining area makes this property great as a full-time residence, holiday home or even a rental.
Liz Halpin, Lottery Operations Manager for the Heart Foundation says, “One Tree Point has a buoyant property market, with many people choosing to invest in, retire to or relocate to the area. With lovely views across the harbour, and great amenities nearby, it’s a popular location for those looking to add sun, sea and sand into their everyday lives.”
The kitchen is brightened with dreamy neutrals in Resene Double Merino and ceiling and trims in Resene Quarter Merino.
The warmth in Resene Double Merino on the dining room walls offers a gentle contrast against the ceiling and trims in Resene Quarter Merino.
The Heart Foundation worked with New Home Consultant Rena Belcher from Jennian Homes Northland. Here’s what she had to say about her inspiration:
What was your design brief?
The brief given to us was to create an open plan home, making the most of the views towards Mount Manaia and the large private backyard.
What colours did you choose?
Being in a coastal community, we opted to use a palette that inspired that beachy holiday feel! We used Resene Nocturnal paired with a lighter coloured brick (Mezzo Cloud) on the exterior, while we chose Resene Double Merino for the interior walls with Resene Quarter Merino for the ceiling and trims.
When furnishing the interior, we layered similar tones to the Resene Merino range, bringing in warm colours to create a relaxed feel. Choosing items with a modern retro look kept the spaces clean and inviting. We also included a mix of textured materials such as timber and brass to brighten up our neutral palette.
In the master bedroom, Resene Double Merino painted on walls creates a backdrop for pops of colour in bedding and décor.
What was the biggest challenge for this project?
Once we began looking for the modern retro look, and consideration towards the beach aspect of our home, sourcing the perfect pieces did take some time!
What was your favourite aspect of the design?
I loved the use of neutral colours inside, with the bright pops of colour adding a bit of fun! It was great to create a space where families can enjoy summers to come. Plus, I am pleased with our selection of exterior colours, juxtaposed with the backyard landscaping, and how they complement the seaside environment.
The exterior features the bold Resene Nocturnal which contrasts beautifully with the lighter toned brick.
