Cody’s garden art houses

24 Sep 2015

Twelve-year-old Cody doesn’t muck around during his school holidays. One summer, his poppa showed him how to use a dropsaw – next thing, Cody was making these cool garden art houses out of recycled pallets and dowels. These are painted in colours such as Resene Havoc (red), Resene Optimist (blue) and Resene Southern Cross (yellow).

Cody – who cuts, paints and draws the windows and doors for all the houses – now sells them at Porirua Expo, Porirua Kids Market, Trade Me and through friends and family.

The young entrepreneur has made lots of pieces in the last couple of years, including puzzles, tealight candle holders, coasters (as a fundraiser for La Leche League NZ), and storage boxes. Any money made has been invested back into buying power tools. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Cody!
