Congratulations to our Rock Face Challenge winners:

We are so impressed with all of your amazing and inventive rock faces that you entered in our competition over the last school holidays. With a wonderful range of Resene paint colours and a lot of creativity, there were so many great designs for our judges to choose from, however there were a few that really stood out:

6-11 year age group:

Katelyn Martin is our winner in the 6-11 year age group. Her creative and detailed New Zealand Ruru (Morepork) is painted using shades Resene White, Resene Turbo, Resene Brown Pod and Resene Blackout. “I had a lot of fun and took care in making them for this competition and they feel almost like a real family,” Katelyn says.

Natasha McHenry, 6, is our very close runner up in the 6-11 year age group for her incredible ‘dalmation with a blue collar’. Natasha used Resene Black, Resene White and Resene Yeehaa to paint her rock face. 

12-16 year age group:

Cait Mcbirney is our winner in the 12-16 year age group for her beautiful ‘abstract face of a lady’. To paint this masterpiece, Cait used the shades Resene Quarter Pearl Lusta, Resene Jalapeno, Resene Goldmine, Resene Brown Bramble and Resene All Black.

Leva-Maree Pereira is our runner up in the 12-16 year age group. Leva-Maree wanted to recreate one of her favourite childhood characters, Totoro. This little creature is usually grey, but Leva-Maree got creative with the paints she had and used the pink tones of Resene Bright Red and Resene Ballerina, as well as Resene Alabaster.

16+ age group:

Wendy Thompson is our winner in the 16+ age group for her unique rock face phone. “This rock was calling to me, saying paint me! Give me a face! Put a smile on my dial! Now it's ‘The Rock meets Salvador Dial-e’ painted with Resene Jalapeno,” Wendy says.

Sam McHenry is our runner up in the 16+ age group for her charming rock of a lady with green and gold hair, and blue eyes. Sam used the shades Resene Black, Resene Niagara, Resene Gold Dust, Resene Sugar And Spice, Resene Yeehaa, Resene Kingfisher Daisy, Resene Belladonna, Resene Lochmara, Resene Calico and Resene Galliano.

Congratulations once again to our winners and everyone who entered! Our winners have won a $200 Resene ColorShop voucher and a $100 Prezzy card, and our runners-up have got some special spot prizes coming their way!
