Add a little more colour to your life, while helping those in need with Resene Hunger for Colour.
To participate in Resene Hunger for Colour simply bring in two cans of food to a ReseneColorShop (NZ only) to receive one free 60-80ml Resene testpot in your choice of colour.
Now in its seventh year, the Resene Hunger for Colour appeal runs until February 28, with all donated cans of food going to local Salvation Army and community food banks to be distributed to families in need.
Your local Resene ColorShop will accept all cans of 200g or 200ml or more that are in good condition and suitable for humans to eat. Some suggestions from the Salvation Army of useful items are:
- Corn
- Baked beans
- Spaghetti
- Tomatoes
- Tuna or salmon
- Pasta sauce
- Stews and soups
- Fruit
- Beetroot
- Coconut milk
- Baby food
If you’d prefer to bring in canned pet food, we can also accept that and will donate it to the SPCA and local community animal shelters.
We do limit the number of free testpots to seven per household, but if you have more cans you’d like to donate we’d be very happy to accept them to pass on to the Salvation Army food banks.
Over previous years, Resene Hunger of Colour has collected an incredible total of 275,000 cans for the Salvation Army food banks. The Salvation Army uses those donations in weekly food parcels of non-perishable items such as canned food, rice, pasta, cereals, beverages and toiletries as well as items for school lunches such as muesli bars and nuts.
The Salvation Army says its clients are extremely grateful for these food parcels and seeing the joy and relief they provide is enormously rewarding for everyone involved.
Help your community with Resene Hunger for Colour today. Just two cans in exchange for a free Resene testpot can make a difference!
