Nine days of spectacular performances await at this year’s Festival of Colour

01 Apr 2019

Dubbed New Zealand's “best little arts festival”, the eighth Festival of Colour, supported by Resene, has nine packed days of programming in store between 30 March - 8 April 2019 at various venues throughout Wanaka and Queenstown.

The spectacular autumnal colours of Lake Wanaka gave the Festival of Colour its name.

Held biennially, the Festival brings an outstanding programme of local, national and international colourful arts to the Southern Lakes region, including world-class music, dance, theatre, visual arts and the renowned Aspiring Conversations.

Over 50 performances will take place in 9 venues, plus opening night bonfires, street theatre, outdoor video screen and schools workshops. Highlights include the award-winning Wild Dogs Under My Skirt, the New Zealand premiere of Fleur Elise Noble’s extraordinary ROOMAN, baroque music superstar Jordi Savall in his only New Zealand concert on his world tour, the Blackbird Ensemble’s acclaimed Bjork: All is Full of Love, Finn Andrews of The Veils, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and the Royal New Zealand Ballet’s Strength & Grace.
