Outdoor kitchen exhibit set to wow at the NZ Home & Lifestyle Show

Dean Philip Saunders of Outlook Landscapes has teamed up with Rhys Mellor from Love Kitchens to create a designer bespoke outdoor kitchen and fireplace as part of an exhibit for the NZ Home & Lifestyle Show.

Taking place from Thursday to Sunday 5-8 March 2020 at Auckland’s Eden Park level three and four concourse and corporate lounges, the show will provide attendees and exhibitors with inspiration and ideas for new builds and renovations.

Dean and Rhys’ exhibit, named ORTO, means ‘kitchen garden’ in Italian. The 8.2m x 5.6m design reflects what can be achieved in a relatively small space. “We wanted to showcase how an outdoor entertaining area and an enclosed intimate space could co-exist together in a limited size garden,” says Dean.

A first-look at what Dean and Rhys’ outdoor kitchen will look like, including the pizza oven and fireplace in Resene Sandtex White and the deck stained in Resene Woodsman Bushtrack.

A look at the buxus balls Dean has chosen to use in the kitchen garden.

Resene Sandtex White will be used on the pizza oven and fireplace, while Resene Woodsman Bushtrack will stain the decking on Dean and Rhys’ chic design. “We wanted it to be elegant and sophisticated, yet unpretentious. What we believe we have created is a visual symphony of European styling and character, just for the NZ Home & Lifestyle Show.”
