P is for Pink Terracce

Pretty pinks, minty greens, pale blue, lemon and mauve. Use these colours today with this dreamy dining setting with a vintage vibe. The wall is painted in Resene Nebula, chair in Resene Moonbeam, cabinet in Resene Pink Terrace and Resene Bianca while the jar vases are in Resene Alluring, Resene Sea Nymph and Resene Pink Lace.

Pastel colours have been used in interior design for centuries, with their popularity peaking during the Rococo period in the 18th century. Pastels are known for their delicate and subtle appearance, making them a popular choice for interior design. In recent years, pastel colours have become increasingly popular in interior design, especially in Scandinavian and minimalist-inspired spaces.

I is for Irresistible

Touches of pink and metallic pair perfectly together here. The wall is painted Resene Sorbet, the distressed floor is in Resene Poured Milk painted over a basecoat of Resene Rebel, the tall vase is in Resene Irresistible, the medium vase is in Resene BFF, small vase in Resene Rose Gold metallic paint and the legs of the jute ottoman are stained in Resene Colorwood Pitch Black timber stain.

Using touches of pink in decor can be a great way to add a soft and feminine touch to a room. The colour pink is often associated with romance, love, and tenderness, and it can create a calming and soothing atmosphere. If you’re new to using the colour pink, go small like on these vases above - the key to using touches of pink in décor is to keep it subtle and balanced.

N is for Nero

This lush conservatory is brought to life with Resene Double Merino on the back wall, the left wall in Resene Quarter Karaka and the back wall bench and boards in Resene Quarter Merino. The top of the bench is in Resene Quarter Merino with Resene FX Paint Effects medium coloured with Resene Foggy Grey. The floor is in Resene Foggy Grey with Resene FX Paint Effects medium coloured with Resene Quarter Merino. Tall white planter painted in Resene Quarter Merino, small cork stool in Resene Quarter Crisp Green and mirror in Resene Nero. Barstool from Jardin. Project by Kate Alexander. Adding small touches of black to decor can be a great way to add depth, contrast, and sophistication to a space. Black is a classic colour that can work well with a variety of styles and colour schemes. This mirror painted in Resene Nero, creates a focal point for this room, and is a stunning contrast against the whites and neutrals on the walls and furniture.

K is for Kumutoto

The pops of aqua in the Resene Kumutoto boxes give this room some freshness. The walls are painted in Resene Double Stack, floor in Resene Half Foundry and bedside table in Resene Wallpaper Collection 798968 with frame and legs in Resene Double Stack. Glass vase and ball from Le Monde, bed linen from Wallace Cotton. Project by Megan Harrison-Turner, image by Melanie Jenkins.

Introducing pops of colour in a neutral room can add visual interest and personality to the space. Be mindful of the size and placement of your pops of colour. For example, a brightly coloured accent wall may be overwhelming, while a few pops of colour distributed throughout the room can create a cohesive and balanced look.
