Scaling great heights

With six kids, why wouldn’t you put a climbing wall on to the outside of the house? That’s just what Martyn and Sarah Giles did during the cladding stage of Mitre 10 Dream Home, which screened this week. And they scored the perfect 10 from all three judges for the work they did on the cladding, the garage and the laundry for a grand total of 30 points. For the cladding, they used vertical weatherboards finished in Resene Waterborne Woodsman CoolColour tinted to Resene Pitch Black. Inside the garage, which includes the laundry, they continued use of the Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen tinted to Resene Half Villa White that they have used as the main neutral throughout the interior of the house.

Mitre 10 Dream Home screens on TV2 on Tuesdays at 7.30pm and is sponsored by Resene, Toyota and ASB among others. Next week is the last challenge, the landscaping, before the grand final on September 3.
