Some like it Choc – sweet cocoa shades for World Chocolate Day

06 Jul 2022

July 7 is World Chocolate Day, so finally there is an excuse to choc ‘till you drop. The sweetest day of the year celebrates the anniversary of the introduction of chocolate in Europe in 1550. While it was Christopher Columbus who brought cacao beans from Mexico to Spain, it was Dominican friars who popularised the treat in Europe, creating sweet hot chocolate which became popular with royalty.

Some delicious design inspiration: Testpots from left: Resene Sour Dough, Resene Leather, Resene Burnt Sienna and Resene Milk Chocolate.

If cocoa has got you loco, why not try some smooth silky Resene chocolate shades to inspire your interiors. Just like real chocolate there are dark and milk chocolate Resene shades to satisfy every interior craving.

Resene Milk Chocolate: This creamy chocolate hue is a winter classic. This silky brown can be used on interiors and exteriors – available in a Resene CoolColour variant.

Resene Dark Chocolate: Dark and sensual this indulgent hue is from the new fashion collection Resene The Range 24. View a swatch at your local Resene ColorShop.

Resene Hot Chocolate: Cosy, rich and comforting, Resene Hot Chocolate is a smooth, sweet deep brown that meanders between red violet and red oxide. Use it on a living room to create a cocoony parlour vibe.

Resene Chocolate Fish: If you like a soft marshmallowy touch to your choc opt for Resene Chocolate Fish, a melted, moody and succulent rich red brown with a purple tone hiding within it.

While chocolate might seem an unlikely bedroom colour, the deep brown colour palette gives this room a luxurious cosy feeling. The walls are painted in Resene Monkey, with the floor painted in Resene Space Shuttle. The pendant lamp and dresser are Resene Kabul, the bedside lamp is Resene Americano and the side table is Resene Kilamanjaro.
