What’s a home without a gnome?

02 Oct 2013

Retro interiors are hugely popular so why not a bit of retro kitsch in the garden? Chris Baillie of Tauranga is keeping the art of gnome making alive and well, and in fact making developments on the designs. While he has a classic fishing gnome and one that reclines on a mushroom, there’s also a motorbike-riding gnome, a gnome couple, a bathing gnome, a book-reading gnome, a meditating gnome and even a naughty gnome caught with his pants down.

The gnomes are hand-cast in concrete for exterior use, or plaster for interiors, and painted with Resene Lumbersider then sealed with Resene Sun Defier (a UV inhibitor) to keep the gnomes bright and colourful.
