Where art meets function

30 Apr 2014

Merging art and furniture, French-born Guy Bucchi makes sculptural pieces including chairs, tables and candelabra from his studio in Northland. The one-off and limited edition pieces, made from metal and native recycled timbers such as kauri, rimu and manuka, are created using handmade tools.

The metal is finished with paints from the Resene Enamacryl Metallics range (Resene Sputnik is the base colour on this Looking for Picasso chair), sometimes mixed with other Resene colours to obtain the desired effect. The pieces are at their essence, works of art, but equally functional and versatile. Guy’s work has been recognised and sold internationally. For more information, see www.guybucchi.com
