Are you in with ‘out’sulation?

24 Jan 2022

Thermal insulation is hands-down one of the most important decisions made in achieving an energy-efficient and sustainable project. A well-insulated building provides year-round comfort for its occupants, costs less to heat and cool and is less prone to mould and mildew. While there are a variety of solutions that can be installed to the interior walls of your project, applying insulation to the outside of the structure is considered the most efficient means in keeping unwanted cold outside and the warmth in where it belongs in the first place.

For more than 30 years, Resene Construction Systems has been designing innovative plaster cladding systems for New Zealand’s unique conditions. Now, they’ve introduced a new contemporary, durable and energy-efficient choice that’s ideal for projects. XTHERM blue provides complete external thermal ‘out’sulation while protecting the structure and those inside from what mother nature throws at it.

Resene Construction Systems' XTHERM insulation boards are comprised of an ultra-high-density XPS & PIR insulation boards providing excellent thermal and impact resistance.

This is one huge firepit! The residential fire pit project in Masterton features a 630m2 XTHERM cladding cavity based plaster cladding, RCS Duratherm insulated foundation and Accumen Plaster mouldings, all finished in Resene Bone White and Resene Double Bone White.

Just like all Resene Construction plaster facades systems, the XTHERM range are complete systems for use over masonry as direct fixed systems or over the more conventional steel or timber framed structures that incorporate a full 20/40mm dry zone cavity. Each system includes flashing technology, a lamina of hand-applied modified plaster coatings, full surface fibreglass reinforcement, and styled with the designer's choice of textures from Rockcote or Plaster Systems all finished with Resene protective coatings with  genuine Resene colours. Plus, the XTHERM systems include Resene Construction Systems' exclusive OnSite Quality Assurance programme, providing surety of performance from the LBP professional plastering contractor installation through to the finish.
