Breathe easy: Why Resene paints are the Sensitive Choice

Recent years have taught us the importance of environmental factors and the considerable impact home and workplace can have on health. When selecting paint for projects, an element to consider is the VOC levels (volatile organic compound) of the product's chemical formulation. VOCs evaporate and are emitted as gases and can affect indoor air quality. At high levels, VOCs can aggravate symptoms of asthma and allergies and contribute to adverse health.

The Resene Environmental Choice Approved range of paints has low or no added VOCs and low odour. With some products offering the addition of MoulDefender, the range promotes improved interior air quality for those with respiratory illnesses.

After a formal review process in conjunction with the National Asthma Council, selected Resene products have been recognised as Sensitive Choice® recommended products.

Resene ClinicalCote is formulated with anti-microbial silver. With origins dating back to 1500BC, anti-microbial silver is internationally recognised as a low-toxic and safe sanitisation option. Adding anti-microbial silver to Resene ClinicalCote protects broadwall areas in high-risk areas, making the waterborne paint an intuitive choice for rest homes, hospitals and GP clinics.

Resene ClinicalCote is formulated to have very low VOC levels, with less than 4 grams per litre, and is Environmental Choice approved. Available in both low sheen and satin finish, Resene ClinicalCote is low-maintenance, washable after seven days and designed to stand up to often harsh hospital cleaners (both alcohol and glycol-based).
