July’s joyful hue and how you can use it
08 Jul 2025
Color Marketing Group (CMG) have announced the latest hue that expresses the month of July and it’s the perfect sunny shade to brighten up these wintry days. We’ve got just the designs to show you how to incorporate it into your next project with Resene paints and wallpapers.
As the Beatles sang, “Here comes the sun, doo doo doo doo, here comes the sun and I say, It’s all right.”
This energising, pale slice of yellow is perfectly realised with the name, Uplift. It is the colour equivalent of an antidote. It banishes negativity, darkness and the doldrums with an upbeat aura.
Uplift adds a mood lifting warmth to practically all the products and spaces it embraces. Consider using it in your next project on smaller accessories or accents alongside white or black shades to really make it pop. Although it also looks lovely with pinks and greens to evoke a sense of summer in a meadow.
Its brightness lends a cosy appeal when rendered in a matte finish or low-sheen. Ideal for wall finishes, textiles and decorative accessories, this strong colour can also be slightly tamed with more subtle finishes. For full on power, and a bit of high glam, try using Uplift in high-powered, high-gloss. The reflectivity of the sheen means the colour bursts onto the scene. No matter the finish, Uplift performs its colour duty for a bit of fun and joy.
Here are two ideas for this colour trend using Resene Wallpaper Collection SUM003 and Resene Mellow Yellow to give you a head start on using this hue:
Find Uplift in this sunny design, Resene Wallpaper Collection SUM003, which is paired with nature inspired motifs in earthy browns and greens. Stain wooden furniture using Resene Colorwood to ground your space and paint window frames with Resene All Black for a crisp contrast.
