Designed to connect people with the land, sea and sky, Manu brings together Pacifica, Asian and Māori influences, creating a vibrant fusion that transcends the plate and spills into the very atmosphere of the space. With colours and designs inspired by New Zealand's natural beauty, Manu is a celebration of culture, art and community, brought to life through Resene paint and wallpaper. 

At the heart of Manu’s philosophy is the concept of kaitiakitanga – guardianship of the environment. Every dish, every design element speaks to the restaurant’s commitment to honouring the land and the diversity of cultures that thrive within it. The restaurant’s name, Manu, the Māori word for ‘feathered creature,’ embodies this spirit. Like a bird, Manu rises each day, offering a welcoming, colourful and culturally rich environment. 

The depth of Resene Dark Knight creates a moody and inviting atmosphere within the restaurant, while Resene Wallpaper Collection 33303 and other luxurious touches offer a sophisticated feel. The murals are created by artist Guy Ellis, aka Dcypher. 

Manu’s stunning interior design is a reflection of New Zealand's natural beauty, with rich greens, deep blues and warm earthy tones that ground the space in a sense of luxury and comfort. Local artists, designers and cultural advisors collaborated to ensure every detail told a story, resonating with authenticity and meaning. 

The walls of the restaurant are painted in Resene Dark Knight, a deep and moody tone that contrasts beautifully with the warm lighting and earthy décor. In the hallway leading to the toilets, the walls shine with a sophisticated flair thanks to Resene FX Metallic Spark, with a final coat of Resene Gold Dust ragged on for a textured, dynamic finish. This luxurious touch is paired with Resene Wallpaper Collection 33303 adorned with gold palm motifs, lending an exotic yet grounded feel to the space. 

Pink neon lights add to the playful flair in Manu and complement the bold hue of Resene Dark Knight on the walls.  

Beyond the beautiful interiors, Manu’s soul lies in its menu. With a focus on manaakitanga (hospitality), Manu serves dishes crafted with intention, highlighting the beauty of diversity, colour and connection. The restaurant is a place where stories are shared, and cultures are celebrated through food – a universal language. 

Manu’s commitment to the community shines through initiatives like the ‘Giving Wings to Others’ fund. Every cocktail purchased at the restaurant contributes to this fund, which is dedicated to empowering women to unlock their potential and achieve their dreams. The initiative provides financial assistance, fosters leadership and promotes excellence among women in various fields, reflecting Manu’s commitment to creating opportunities for all. 

The hallway to the bathrooms features Resene FX Metallic Spark with a final coat of Resene Gold Dust ragged ontop to give textured finish. 

Resene Wallpaper Collection 33303 adds a luxurious touch with its metallic gold design. The inside of the display is painted in Resene Dark Knight to match the walls of the restaurant.
