Resene Black White and Muros bring this showroom to life

At Refined Living’s showroom in Parnell, the walls themselves become part of the design story. While plain painted surfaces are still great for displaying store and showroom items, the owners repurposed three distinct Muros panels from their previous Ponsonby showroom and brought them together in a single cohesive scheme.

Muros Loft Brick was used for the main walls, Muros Schist Stone (feature image) was installed around the fireplace and Muros Wooden Sleepers were given new life on the counter. Each surface carries its own character and history, and now finished in Resene Black White the effect is seamless, bright and layered.

The choice of Resene Black White was both aesthetic and practical. In a commercial environment where consistency matters, the colour delivers a fresh, luminous white that reflects natural light and enhances the sense of space. By painting over the three different Muros panels, the team was able to unify the showroom design while still celebrating the depth of each texture. It’s a tone-on-tone palette that feels timeless and provides a neutral engaging backdrop for furnishings, lighting and design pieces.

This project demonstrates the value of pairing texture with the right paint finish. The tactile qualities of Muros panels bring dimension and visual interest, while Resene Black White, Resene’s most popular shade of all time, ties the whole scheme together in a way that feels refined and contemporary.
