An ‘egg-cellent’ centrepiece: DIY easter egg croquembouche
29 Mar 2023
Guests will be so egg-cited when they sit down at the table to see this wonderful centrepiece. Complete your Easter decorating by making your own Easter egg croquembouche for the table, and with the many Resene paint colours available you can make it as colourful as you like. This is a great project to get the kids involved in over the holidays too.
What you need:
- Papier mȃché eggs
- Polystyrene cone
- Paintbrush
- Hot glue gun
- Faux flowers
- Resene paint testpots in colours of your choice. Fleur used Resene Sandbar, Resene Ashanti, Resene Coconut Cream and Resene Rebel
Step 1: Start by splitting your eggs into three equal groups and paint them each in your chosen Resene paint colours. Fleur used Resene Sandbar, Resene Ashanti and Resene Coconut Cream.
Step 2: Lay all the eggs out on a drop cloth and use a paintbrush to flick on splatters of your chosen Resene colour, preferably a slightly darker shade so the splatters are visible. Fleur used Resene Rebel. This will give the eggs a real life speckled look.
Step 3: Use a hot glue gun to glue the eggs to a polystyrene cone.
Step 4: Finish by hot gluing faux flowers into any gaps. You could also use little pom poms or any other decorations.
Wall painted in Resene Carrara.
