Christmas DIY: Spark up your table

06 Dec 2016

Getting friends and family together for a Christmas feast is one of the great joys of the season. So why not make the table extra special with these festive themed placemats?

We created ours by taking cork mats and cutting them into Christmas shapes (think stars, bells, baubles, snowmen, mistletoe, etc) and painting them with Resene testpots.

You will need

Cork mats (available from most hardware stores), stencils of traditional Christmas shapes, craft knife, cutting board, Resene testpots and paint brushes. We went with a palette of Resene Scandi, Resene Balance and Resene Spark.

  • Stencil the Christmas shapes onto the cork mats.
  • Using the craft knife, carefully cut out the shapes.
  • Paint and leave to dry.
  • Decorate your table and have a Merry Christmas!
