Considering painted floors? Try Resene Walk-on flooring and paving paint
21 May 2026
It might not be the first option you think of, but painting your floor gives you a lot of creative freedom – plus it just looks great!
Resene Walk-on flooring and paving paint has just been reformulated using additional polyurethane resin to maximise its abrasion resistance, and it’s now easier to clean thanks to the removal of a non-slip additive.
However, if you do require some extra slip resistance, you can use Resene Non-Skid Deck and Path, add Resene Non-Slip Additive into Walk-on, or sprinkle directly onto the wet paint (for example, on the leading edges of steps). It is worth noting too, that many exterior surfaces, such as concrete, are inherently slip-resistant.
The new formulation offers a smoother finish that’s tougher and easier to maintain. This means it’s better suited to high-foot-traffic interior and exterior areas such as hallways, main living areas, decking, paths, steps and patios.
These two designs (above) showcase just a couple of versatile and stylish options for using Walk-on. The office floor (left) is painted in Resene Top Notch, and the Mediterranean courtyard (right) features flooring in Triple Pearl Lusta with grid lines in Eighth Pearl Lusta for a tile look.
