Fun projects for the school holidays

19 Apr 2017

Spend the school holidays getting crafty with Resene testpots and these hands on DIY projects for the kids. Alayna Flighty of Kiwi Families shares her ideas, guaranteed to keep your little ones busy and having fun.

Painted jars stationery organiser

These painted jars are perfect for storing pens and other stationery...  but before things can get tidy, the kids will have fun getting a little messy! Mixing swirls of paint from Resene testpots, this project uses Resene Pink Lace, Resene Seance, Resene Jalapeno and Resene Riptide. How to make and use story stones

Painting rocks seems all the rage these days, so why not get the kids involved? Alayna shares the idea of story stones whereby rocks are painted in a set of illustrations that tell a story... for this example, she's used the tale of the three little piggies.

Colours used are Resene Wild West, Resene Ballerina, Resene Pretty in Pink, Resene Candy Floss, Resene Cotton Wool, Resene Regent Grey and Resene Shooting Star. Click here for the DIY.

Easy to make outdoor fairy door

Winter is on its way... even more reason for the fairies in the garden to have a sturdy and pretty door to keep the cold at bay. This sweet project really lets the kids experiment with colour and design, using Resene testpots in various colours. Click here for the DIY.
