Make an adorable egg wreath for your front door this Easter

14 Apr 2022

Welcome guests to your home for Easter with this charming egg wreath. Choose a rainbow of your favourite colours or pick a tonal scheme to match your front door.

You will need

Step 1: Start with a whole lot of papier-mâché eggs.  Fleur found hers at a craft store and used about 38 eggs. Alternatively you could use blown eggs although these will be very delicate, so be careful painting. To make blown eggs, use a toothpick to prick a hole in the top and bottom of the egg.  Hold the egg over a bowl and place a straw over the hole. Blow the straw to flush the egg white and yolk into the bowl.

Step 2: Paint your eggs in a range of graduating colours, painting at least one small and one big egg in each colour. Fleur used Resene Blackberry,Resene Merlot, Resene Geronimo, Resene Red Herring,Resene Coral Tree, Resene Ayers Rock, Resene Fuel Yellow, Resene Funk, Resene Corvette, Resene Botticelli, Resene Ming, Resene Blue Lagoon,Resene Swamp, Resene Blue Diamond, Resene Truffle* and Resene Grey Area*

Step 3: Use a hot glue gun to attach the eggs to your wreath frame. Fleur found a wreath frame that already had foliage attached to it, but you could start with a bare frame and choose whether to add foliage or not.

Welcome guests and the Easter bunny to your home with your festive wreath. Fleur’s wreath eggs are painted in Resene Blackberry, Resene Merlot, Resene Geronimo, Resene Red Herring, Resene Coral Tree, Resene Ayers Rock, Resene Fuel Yellow, Resene Funk, Resene Corvette. Resene Botticelli, Resene Ming, Resene Blue Lagoon, Resene Swamp and Resene Blue Diamond. The door painted in Resene Clockwork Orange.
