Make mealtimes colourful with these DIY napkin rings
31 Jul 2024
If you love to entertain and prefer fabric napkins, then you may want to try making some of these inexpensive wooden bead napkin rings. You can whip these up in an afternoon and save yourself a lot of money as the cost of store-bought ones can add up quickly. Get creative with colours and patterns to wow your guests!
You will need:
- 6 wooden beads
- Thin elastic
- Fine paintbrush
- Resene testpots in your chosen colours. We used Resene Hemisphere, Resene Alabaster and Resene Bondi Blue
Step 1: Gather everything you need so you’re ready to go.
Step 2:Paint your beads in two coats of your chosen Resene paint colours allowing dry time between coats. We used Resene Hemisphere, Resene Alabaster and Resene Bondi Blue.
Step 3: Once dry, thread the painted beads onto a piece of thin elastic and knot at the end.
Step 4: Pop in your fabric napkin and add to your table setting – you could even repaint them to suit the theme of each dinner party or in your guest’s favourite colours.
Background painted in Alabaster and placemat in Resene Hemisphere. Palm napkins from Adairs.
