Make your own ‘egg-cellent’ rainbow mobile

29 Jun 2023

This delightful DIY will add colour and wonder to your child’s room. By upcycling simple egg cartons into a whimsical masterpiece, you can infuse their room with a burst of joyous hues and playful charm. You can even get them involved to help choose the Resene testpot colours and paint. Let the vibrant colours of a rainbow dance above your little one's dreams with this fun and engaging project.

You will need:

Step 1: Start by cutting up your egg cartons. Cut out the cups that hold the eggs, and shape them into flowers.

Step 2: You can paint your flowers in any Resene paint colours you choose, you could even add patterns if you like. Fleur divided hers into six groups and painted three of them in Resene Red Berry, four in Resene Fire, six in Resene Pirate Gold, seven in Resene Kermit, six in Resene Now Or Never and four in Resene Kingfisher Daisy.

Step 3: Next, put them in six lines of five flowers and string them together. Tie a knot under each flower to prevent them from sliding down.

Step 4: Finish by tying the strings to a stick and add a length of string to the top of the stick for it to hang by. Enjoy your everlasting rainbow.
