Top wallpaper picks this season
Our love affair with wallpapers continues as we head into spring and summer, whether we use them as whole room treatments or just a feature wall or two. Resene ColorShops are continually stocking new and exciting designs instore. Here are some key trends and some of our favourites:
Stripes: A classic summer motif at any time, but check out how they’ve been interpreted in the Stripes wallpaper collection. They’re fat and fun, thin and funky, but most of all they are colourful.
Texture and subtle faux looks: Faux looks have moved away from the more obvious planks and what were called ‘conversation’ looks into a more subtle array of styles. Stone, marble, even cork. Textured wallpapers have always been hugely popular, and some of the new designs available add sheen for more depth and are more pronounced.
Luxe and shine: Wallpaper manufacturers are constantly finding new ways to add character to the very fabric of the paper. It might look like old paper, or have a soft metallic sheen, be glittery or lovely to touch.
Jungle and tropical motifs: Pull up a palm tree, add a toucan or two and you can imagine you’re in some tropical wonderland. Or just paper the walls in one of the many fun tropical prints for a getaway that doesn’t involve air travel.
