Little goes big

17 Aug 2016

The Lilliput Libraries initiative is going strong, thanks to Dunedin residents and donated Resene paint. Lilliput Libraries are letterbox-style mini libraries placed in front of schools, community buildings and private homes that operate on an honesty system.

Simply choose a book you like from the Lilliput Library, and return it to the same library or another one once you’ve finished. Or you can keep it forever. Donate books you don’t need, and spread the word… literally. Books can also be dropped into the Resene ColorShop in Dunedin (at 172 Crawford St).

There are now 38 of the libraries in Dunedin, all beautifully and distinctively decorated in various themes, using Resene paint. The scheme is spearheaded by local resident Ruth Arnison; for more see her blog.
